I’m 19, 5’2, and weigh about 145.
my ultimate goal is to lose 25 pounds.
i know i can’t do that in 7 weeks…but…IN 7 WEEKS i have an event to attend, and i’d like to look good & most important, feel confident.
i have a sort of plan, tell me how this looks, and what else i can do to get healthy..
monday/wednesday/friday/sunday : run for about an hour.
tuesday/wednesday/thursday: do other exercises;; like crunches, jump rope, ride my bike, (in-line) skate, etc.
also, no more : fast food, junk food, sodas.
i usually eat a yogurt or a fruit in the mornings.
WHEN I GET A CHANCE TO EAT LUNCH, i eat a sandwhich.
then dinner (which is usually around 7pm since that’s the time i get home from work), i usually eat chicken, rice, vegetables, or something like that.
then no food after my dinner. only water.
any helpful tips?
i’d really appreciate it.
& please no ” cut a limb off” answers.
this is important to me, please don’t take it as a joke. THANKS. =]
*that’s only supposed to be tuesday/thursday* =]
(i get to ‘rest’ on saturdays.)
oh & when i was in high school, i cheered, & in about a month i lost close to 20 pounds.
i just don’t know if my body still works that way.

A bit more information: I get about 7-8 hours of sleep every night. I work 5 days a week from 8 am – 4 pm. I have a cup of coffee in the morning. I eat things like oatmeal, waffles, tuna, pasta, frozen meals, hamburgers, green beans, shredded wheat, brownies. I drink water (possibly not as much as I should). I was exercising more often but I got out of a short term relationship (I was a little upset) about a month ago and haven’t really gotten back into the walking/resistance training. I stretch a little bit but probably not as much as I should (I do notice a boost in energy from a little stretching).
My main issue is I’ll get to work and just zone out. It’s not that I don’t like my job, I want to get things done more than anything, but I often find myself feeling drained and I’m not quite sure why.
Any tips on getting better would be much appreciated. I want to just be a ball of energy but I simply feel like I can’t. Thanks.

Posted on 31 March 2010. Tags: class, help, much, Periods, please, sooo, thank, UGH.
I’m starting gym class tomorrow, and I don’t know what to do about my period. I am still getting used to periods, but i have quite a heavy flow. I use overnight ultra thin pads normally to school, but now i’m starting gym this semester, and i don’t know what to do about all the running and physical exercise while using pads. I am superrrr scared of tampons, they just don’t work for me. They make me really nervous and i tremble and, well, they’re just out of the question. So, i need help? Tips on using pads while running the mile, doing intense gym work, having a heavy flow, AND a male teacher!
Please help, i’m so scared, and my mom says that she can give me a note to give to my teacher on my heavy days, but 3 out of 7 of my days are heavy, and i’m not gonna give him a note 3 days a month saying “sorry i’m on my period, can’t do any gym stuff, so, um, yeah, err, bye.” I don’t want him to know about my period!! Then again, how am i supposed to run the mile/do any gym stuff on my heavy flowing periods?
Also, i don’t use big bulky pads cause i don’t want them to show (i use ultra thin overnights, like i said.) are thinner pads less absorbent/less protection than thick ones?
Also, should i change my pad right before/after gym class? i usually change once in the morning, once in the middle of the day, and then when i get home from school, but i don’t know if i should change my little “schedule” lol now that i have gym class.
Also, is it okay if i (somehow get the courage) to tell my teacher i can’t do gym on my heavy days, or at least i can’t do the mile. what should i tell him? what should i tell people who ask? we only run the mile on wednesdays…would/could i have to make it up later?
thank you so much! sorry about the longgg question, but i’m totally freaking out.

Hello!
Well, here’s my story: I woke up one morning and realized that I need to diet. Ahahahah.
Okay, not really, but…
Um… Well, I’ve never been good at dieting or planning them up, and I was just wondering if anyone could help me with some suggestions, please?
I’m recently 17 years old, weigh 142 lbs.(I feel so lethargic now…
) and am 167 centimeters tall… Or, 5’6″ ish, um… my desired weight range is 112-115 lbs(I know that this is in the healthy BMI for my height), because that was when I felt best.
I did a Basic Metabolic Resting rate thing or something like that and since I don’t really get to exercise much (I live in the middle of nowhere. lol.) it is like 1,700 or something?
Anyway… Do you think it is possible for me to drop like, 30-ish lbs. in six months? Are there any tips that could help me to do this?
Please help… I dunno where to start… lol.
Thank you so much!!

I sleep for around 9 hours every night and I go to sleep around 10:00. But I’m still very tired in the morning. I can hardly drag myself out of bed. And the worst problem is that I am almost continuously yawning the whole day. And I feel like I’ve not slept at all, when I get up in the morning.
How long should I sleep for?? btw, I’m a teen. And it’s not nice to be like ‘Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn!’ every where I go and that too everyday. And I have no trouble falling asleep at night; the problem is waking up. Please don’t write the usual ‘how-to-fall-asleep’ tips like playing soft music, or reducing the light in the room or setting the AC to a comfortable temperature. That’s not what I have trouble with.
Please help me.
(If it makes a difference, I take multivitamins and exercise everyday. And I drink 2 litres of water a day)
Thanks.
If I sleep for less than 9 hours, I feel more tired than if I sleep for 9 hours.
By varying the number of hours I sleep each night, I have found out that I need atleast 9 hours of sleep.
and I’m not overweight or have any problems with my tonsils

I already have quite big legs so I don’t want a muscle-gaining workout. I just have excess fat around the hips/butt/thigh area and want to get rid of it in 3 months at the longest. I eat healthy, drink enough water and exercise 5 mins in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. I don’t think this is enough though. What is the most effective?
Also what are some other good tips or foods that are effective? (none of those pills or diet foods though)
Lastly, does dry-brushing and massage work? I heard it helps get rid of fat and tone up..?
I prefer professional/very accurate information please.

Okay so I’m almost 12 years old. I know I seem a little young to be thinking about this but I’m hitting puberty pretty early, and I want to make sure my body grows up the way I want it too.
I don’t want to be some huge body-builder dude or anything. I just want to be fit. So like I said I’m almost 12 and right now weigh about 107 pounds. I’m not sure if this is healthy or not, but I have some belly and thigh fat that I want to get rid of. I also want to get a bit of muscle too. I’m not that strong yet-I can barely do an actually sit-up(without lifting my legs off the ground), and I can’t do a full push-up. Like, I can’t touch my nose to the ground, but I can touch my hair. But I can only do like 5-10 in a row, 15 at the most.
I usually go about 2 and a half miles a day on the treadmill, and then I walk the dog so I get about 3 miles a day. I don’t run-I go about 4-5 mph. If I try to run I usually end up getting a stitch in my side after a couple minutes.
I also do squats to help my legs out-usually sets of 25, but I could probably do 30 if I felt like it.
I’m not much of an athlete, but I want to be fit, and I might become one if I work out enough.
I’m also a really picky eater(It’s not my fault! I didn’t choose my tasted buds!), so it’s hard for me to eat healthy. I usually have something like waffles or cereal for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, maybe some crackers for an afternoon snack, and then (because my family hardly ever eats anything I like for dinner and the only other thing my mom will let me have is this) a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner.
I want to eat healthier, but I’m not exactly sure how. I heard cutting down on snacks helps, so I could skip the afternoon snack.
Does anyone have any tips for me? How much fat will I burn in a month by going 3 miles a day? I tried something new I heard about this morning, and started exercising right when I woke up. It was hard, but I heard you burn more fat this way, because your body needs more energy to get you going. I usually go 20 minutes on the treadmill at 4 mph, then 10 minutes at 5mph. But this morning when I got up I tried just going 5mph for 12 minutes. It was actually easier then switching ot 5mph, and I didn’t get as much of a stitch in my side-I always get a stitch in my side when I go on the treadmill.
I also swim, but not too much, and I don’t usually exercise in the pool-usually I just play around with my siblings.
I know this is a lot, but if someone could answer all these questions, I’d be really gratefull.

I am a 20 year old female student, 5’7″ tall and 115 lbs. I have what might be called a more curvy figure, with larger breasts and hips. However, I want my body to look longer and more slender and sleek, resembling someone like Gisele Bundchen. Does anyone know her height and weight stats? How much would someone who is 5’7″ have to weight to achieve this look?
Can anyone offer any tips to start transforming my body in the next 5 weeks? My boyfriend is getting out of jail in about that time and I want to look as hot as possible. I usually eat around 1500 calories a day, jog 2 miles every morning, and do about a half hour of yoga 5 or 6 times a week. Should I cut calories or add more exercise? Any tips on how to cut calories and not feel too weak to exercise?
I am not interested in hearing that I should learn to love the body I have. Please only answer if you want to help. I’m looking for ladies who have been successful in losing weight to give me some tips!

Posted on 21 March 2010. Tags: appreciated., Exercise/Diet, help, much, Question
Okay, so I’m living away from home for the summer. I’m working at a resort where we live in dorms. My job is the night auditor, graveyard shift, so I sleep from about 9 in the morning to 5 or 6 in the evening. There is no gym where I work. I’m in a really pretty area, but its very much bear country, so running or hiking isn’t really the best idea alone. I’m not a terribly social person either, so I do prefer to stay by myself. And besides all this, it usually is too dark by the time I’m up and ready to do much outdoors.
Okay so to my question now, what are some cardio excercises I can do in a relatively small space? I do have a little bit of room in my dorm, just not a lot.
And also with my funny schedule I feel like I don’t get out alot, so I’ve gained a little weight. How can I alter my diet to make sure I get back down and get into shape again? Can someone give me some good tips on things to snack on and eat to help keep a healthy lifestyle going for me? We do have cafeteria food, which I must say is terrible, but I have my own snacks besides.
I’m just getting frustrated, because I’ve always been pretty healthy and active for the most part, but it’s hard to maintain that here with my job. And to add to all of this, I’m on birth control, and I think that has made me gain a little weight too. So any tips on how to deal with that would be much appreciated also.
Thanks to everyone who can help me out in any way.
oh yeah,
I’m 19
I’m 5’7″
I weigh currently 160. I came here at the end of May weighing 148.
THIS is the problem…
