losing weight question!!?


hey
im gonna be a junior in high school next year and i wanna make a change. so i wanna lose weight. im about 5’4 and weigh like 172….i know its really bad.But i wanna try and make this change.im just not sure of to go about it..

does anyone have any tips on how i should go about this? what exercises i should do in the morning and throughout the day?
what foods i should eat?

1 month for toning and losing weight??? Omg guys I need help plzz.?


1. how can I tone my arms really quick by using 2 kg of dumbbells each? What sort of exercise will def help me tone my arms within a month?
2. How many hours and how many times a week should i walk to slim my legs? How long would it take me to see the result? I walk 1 and a half hour, 2-3 times a week? is that good?
3. What sort of healthy food should I eat in the morning, lunch and dinner?
4. 10-15 mins of jump rope? I only use the light rope cuz I don’t have any sort of jump rope, will that help still?

I’m 16, female and I’m about 5’1 and weight about 51-52 kg.
I need to tone my arms and need to lose weight on my legs and def need to tone them up because they are a bit saggy.

I need some tips plz.. I don’t want you to recommend me some diet pills, or gym. I just want to be healthy but lose weight at the same time.

Losing Weight is Hard, Need Help!?


Because I’m at school and working (not as much as I used to but I run around with children for about eight hours a week) I am finding it hard to stick to any kind of exercise plan. I walk about half an hour a day (which I know I should walk more but have a hard time finding the time) and recently have started doing some tone ups in the morning before class. (including squats, lunges, crunches, push ups) Because I don’t have weights with me, I use two bottles of one liter water filled bottles.

What I guess I’m asking is this is decent enough to shed a few pounds? I watch what I eat and drink plenty of liquids (no sodas at all). Any other tips out there for me?

I’m 5’3″ roughly 130 pounds. I want to lose around 15-20 pounds but am in no rush to do so. Thanks again.

Women with PCOS- losing weight?


I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 13 and I’m 18 now. So far the only thing that I’ve been on to treat it is birth control.

I have been very active since I was young. I played basketball, soccer, softball & field hockey. Now I only play softball but I jog or go for long walks in the morning.

Well when I was 13 I went up like 30 pounds and it seems every year I gain a consistent 5 pounds. I weigh 190 now but I used to weigh 140 but that was with a lot of muscle so I was in really good shape. Now I feel really heavy.

I have been trying to lose weight now for the past 2 years. I cut calories and exercise year round(more so in summer no school) and I haven’t lost a single pound. In fact I’ve gain 10 pounds since I’ve been trying to lose weight. My doctor just told me last week that cutting calories doesn’t work for women with PCOS.

Any tips or suggestions on how I can loseweight?

My doctor may put me on Metformin depending on the results of some tests. Will this help
Sorry, I meant to put that I weight 195 now instead of 190. Not really much of a difference though.
I can’t exactly afford a nutritionist and I doubt I can find one that fully understands PCOS. Its not really well known, although quite common.

PCOS is the abbreviation for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

Every woman has some testosterone in them, but there is supposed to be a balance with the estrogen.

Unfortunately, my ovaries produce too much testosterone which leads to having cysts on my ovaries.

It also associates with insulin resistance, making it very difficult to lose weight.

I have irregular periods from it, mood swings, terrible acne, gain weight easily (mainly in my mid section-like a guy would), higher cholesterol and my hair is thinning a little.

There are other symptoms that I don’t have. Like some women get skin tags and facial hair.

PCOS is the leading cause of infertility in women.

I’m not gaining weight…but I’m not losing it? Help!?


I am a bit overweight, so I started eating healthier and moving around a lot more. Afterschool, instead of grabbing some crackers, smearing them in cheese, and sitting on my butt, I grab a carrot, or some uncooked broccolli and go for a jog. Rather than waiting for my sis to get home, I walk up to get her. In school, I have salad rather than pizza, and use only 2 teaspoons of Italian rather than a large package of Ranch. In the morning, I have Total or Life (at the serving size) rather than a huge bowl of Frosted Flakes or Coco Puffs (I’m 13). At school, I became a stage crew person for the play, and during scenes before we change the scene, I walk around. (changing scenes is pretty good exercise too). In my room, I lay a thick blanket on the floor and do some crunches, then yoga. Even now I’m jogging in place. I’m not gaining more weight, but I’m not losing it. Tips?

Looking for advice on losing weight?


Hi, I am a stay at home mom of 2, and trying really hard to lose weight. My children are very small, so my exercise time is limited. I thought maybe if I tell you what I am doing right now, some of you can give me some tips on anything I’m doing wrong and things I can easily add to what I’m already doing. SO, I have a protein shake in the morning, as soon as my kids make it possible for me, but probably not as early as I should. Then when they go down for their morning nap I get on my treadmill. I am in horrible shape, so I am trying to push myself by 5 minutes more everyday. Then I try to have a salad for lunch, sometimes with a little chicken, and I use a light dressing. Then I have a 100 calorie snack sometime in the afternoon. Dinner and night time is my biggest problem, my husband refuses to eat any healthier than he already does, so I make a “normal” dinner but I try to fill up on salad before having anything else. And I have another 100 calorie pack sometime after dinner… Any advice at all is welcome, also if anyone knows of any free websites, that would be great. I wanted to join the biggest loser club, but don’t really have the extra money for that right now. Thanks in advance

why am i not losing more weight?


Im am going to tell u the exact numbers so please don’t judge me.
I am over weight and have started this week to really kick it into high gear and start to loose all the weight i’ve gained.i weighed my self monday night and the scale said 203.5lbs. since then i have been eating as close to perfect as i can which is pretty good and have exercised off 1000 calories a day on an exercise bike. I no that they say that u shouldn’t weight ur self a lot,but i have weighed my self every morning and night it has never been as high as the 203.5lbs, but the lowest has only been 200 lbs. I would think that i would be losing more weight, because i no that your weight goes up and down during the day and i weight my self in the begging at night and it would only be fair to weight my at night again right? And when i weigh my self at night i have only really lost about 1.5 pounds shouldn’t i be losing more weight than that? Also if u have any losing weight tips that would help.

Losing weight safetly at a normal weight.?


I need some advice and tips on how to lose weight at a normal weight.

I’m 5’5 [166cm]
116 pounds [53 kg]
my bmi is 19.2

I’m ashamed to admit i eat really unhealthily despite my normal healthy weight.
for example today i had:
a crumpet with vegemite
a slice of chocolate cake
chinese green tea
2 scones with jam & cream
1/4 charcoal bbq chicken and hot chips.

I really hate that and i want to change. I want to eat healthier but i need some suggestions and recipes for healthy food.
So far i have thought up of:
tuna in brine
chinese tea
water
rice

but thats not enough and i would probably starve. So what else can i eat?!

Also weight-wise:

Whats the lowest weight I can be but be healthy?
How much am i meant to eat everyday?

I used to do no exercise [unless getting the post in the morning counts] but have started walking/jogging for half an hour everyday at dusk.
I don’t exercise much because i like in Western Australia where its hot and sunny and im a redhead and burn easily.
I’m thinking of starting weight training because i have a barbell at home.

I mainly want to lose weight for superficial reasons. I want to wear cuter clothes.Plus I think naturally if I was healthier I would be smaller then what I am now.

Why aren’t i losing body fat?


Can anyone help? I’ve changed my diet for the past two months to Cereal in the morning (Wheatbix or neutral grain etc.) and then for lunch either a fruit salad or a sandwhich, and then for dinner chicken or fish. I only drink water, i occasionally have an energy drink if tired and have had alcoholic drinks bout 3 times since. I also exercise quiet a bit either doing weights pushups etc. and walking everywhere.
I was 19% 2 and a hlaf months ago and i am now roughly14%.

Any hints or tips?
