How does one go about getting rid of the dreaded “Man Boobs”?

After years of bartending and bouncing,i have been hanging out in bars 5 nights a week for a loooong time. I have been too busy drinking to work out regularly. The mornings are usually pretty rough so exercise is the last thing on my mind, even though i know i should just grin and bare it. Lately, i have noticed some man boob on me. It is depressing. My girlfriend says she doesnt see it but i know what i see. I must get rid of this before it gets out of hand. I already feel like i cant be taken seriously. If anybody has any tips to eaily get rid of these disgusting bits of fat on my chest quickly i am all ears. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I’m getting depressed about my weight…?

Ok I haven’t been skinny in a long time, well about 5 years anyways and I’ve never had kids and my current weight is really stressing me out, I weighed 145lbs in 2006 and now I weigh 208lbs! I’ve gained at least 30lbs in the last year and nothing is working to get it off! I walk every day, eat 2 SMALL meals with a meat and veggie and have a snack of 6 crackers and a tablespoon of cream cheese in the afternoon. I exercise at least three times a week and have tried every new diet pill I’ve heard of! My stomach looks like I had a baby, stretch marks, sagging etc… I’m really starting to feel hopeless, I have a friggin double chin starting! My sex life is becoming non-existent and this morning in church a little girl was making fun of me for being big. Does anyone have ANY tips or advice, I’m really feeling down, I’m getting married in two weeks and all I can think about is how people are going to think I’m a snow-beast in a big white dress…

Tips for getting in shape for the Military?

I’m 16 and turning 17 in April. Along with my parents’ consent, I’m planning on enlisting in the Air Force this April. I’m definitely not in the best shape, and to help me prepare I’ve joined NJROTC at my school along with weight training, which I plan to continue both till graduation next year. Also this week I joined the ROTC Athletic Team, and after going to that first practice I’ve realized how out of shape I am and its going to be a while before I’m going to be able to compete and travel. I recently decided to join the Air Force a couple months ago, so I will be entering ROTC at semester, so I’m behind a lot of the people on the team. So during the school week I will be working out 7 times a week. I have Athletic practice Mondays and Wednesdays for about 80 minutes and the practice on Fridays for about 50 minutes. For my ROTC class I have PT once a week on Wednesdays and for at least the 3rd quarter we will be doing PT in the pool. I have weight training for 1 hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and then Fridays due to shorted class period we will work out for about 30 minutes if we even work out that day. So I will be working out 6 hours a week. I’ve been kind of heavy most of my life, I’m not very heavy, but I know I really should lose weight, also I’m hitting kind of close to the weight limit for my height. I’m about 17 years old, 5′ 3”, and between 145-150 lbs. I’m kind of a naturally large person because even though I am Korean and Caucasian, I take after the European side as far as my body shape. So I have a broader body. I have friends who are about 100-115 lbs., and I know that even if I weighed as much as they do, I would still be larger than them so I guess I’m what people would called Big Boned. Now as far diet I get little lost. I know that I’m really going to have to increase my protein, but I’m not sure by how much. How should I portion my meals? Since I have weights during my lunch period, I wanted to know what I should be eating? I have my weights class and the right after it I go to lunch. Last year I never really ate lunch after weights because even though I would go into weights starving, I would leave and not be hungry afterwards. Also I felt like what’s the point of working out if I just eat right after cause I’m putting back in the calories I just burned. So should I keep it really light or should I go for protein. The last thing I’ve been wondering about is, since I’m not very athletic naturally and I’m going to be exercising A LOT more than my body is used to, I know that I’m going to be very sore, but how can I minimize that or when it does happen how to deal with it? This Monday I went to practice which was really pathetic and obviously was not able to keep up with everyone and the next day I was sore, my abs hurt, and my arms and back did also. So I used bengay that didn’t do much, also I don’t take over the counter meds cause I’ve used them before and they just don’t work for me. I guess I roll around or move a lot in my sleep because this morning, I woke up and my upper abs were like 5 times worse than the day before, but everything else was better than it was. Now it does feel like I’ve been working out too hard, it feels like it got punched or kicked in my upper abs.

I am losing weight..BUT MY SKIN IS NOT GETTING FIRM….what do I need to do to make my stomach firm?

So I am going to the gym regularly. I exercise like this:

I run 1.5 miles in the morning (8am). Then at 12pm I run 1 mile. So that is a total of 2.5 miles a day. Then at 12pm while at the gym I do:

Pec Fly
Vertical Press
Incline Press
Preacher’s Curl
Tricep Extension
and Pull down…

After that I do a total of 60 crunches…and 24 leg raise-ups.

Do you think that I am focusing too much on my arms?

Do you suggest that in order to firm my stomach I need more than running?

Since the beginning of June, I have lost a total of 11 lbs.
I need to make my stomach firm…

Do you suggest I do more ab workouts? If so, which ones?
Am I doing this all wrong?

If you have some exercise tips you would like to share for making my stomach firm please do so…

THANKS!

I would really like to start getting into a jogging routine but…?

Okay, first of all…yes I want to start jogging, but I’m not sure if I should start walking first (since I haven’t had an exercise routine in a few months and have been doing absolutely nothing as far as exercise goes) or if I should just start jogging for a few minutes a day and slowly build that up and eventually jog for a lot longer?

I’m also not sure when I should go, I’d rather no one see me, especially since I’m just starting out…so I’m think early, early morning. It’s just…I’ve tried this a few different times and set my alarm for about 5:30 AM (another time at 6 AM, but I want to go when it’s a little darker out), but could not get myself to get up and actually do it. So I guess I’m lacking motivation as well.

So does anybody have any tips or suggestions? I would really like to get into jogging and exercising a lot more. I think it’ll really build up my confidence and self-esteem, plus I’ll be doing something good for my body.

Getting the Right Camping Equipment

One of the best trips you can go on is within your own country – camping. It does not matter if you have done it a million times before or if this is your first time. Having the right camping equipment is crucial to having a great trip in the wilderness. When you are preparing to go camping, it would be a smart idea to make a checklist of the necessary items you will need for your camp out. Being prepared is an important aspect of being far away from a major town or city.

1. Plan your packing

Packing is the first step to a great camping trip (well, besides planning). Once you are ready to start packing for your camping trip, make a list of the items that you want and need to bring with you. As you pack them, check them off to ensure that you are not forgetting anything. This is the best system for remembering everything before you leave your home.

2. Shelter and bedding

Shelter for camping and the bedding you will need for sleeping is very important to any camper. Make sure that you pack all your blankets and tents if you are planning an overnight trip. It is best to have some sort of shelter for sleeping to protect you from not only the weather, buy to also make you feel more secure. You need the blankets to keep you cozy and warm at night.

3. Personal effects

Make sure that you pack all of your personal hygiene items for you trip. Chances are you will not need makeup or hairspray. You will however need toilet paper, soap, shampoo, a hair brush and toothbrush. Bring along a few washcloths and towels to freshen up in the mornings.

4. Clothing

Make sure that you pack enough clothes for your camping trip. You will not be able to wash clothes so pack at least one outfit for everyday. You will need pants, warm shirts, warm socks, and underwear. Have some rain gear on hand too in case Mother Nature throws a shower or two at you.

5. Cooking gear for camping

You will need to be able to eat while you are in the woods. Make sure that you have your grill packed as well as a few other things. Bring along your cooking utensils, cutting board, paper plates, cups, silverware, aluminum foil, dish soap and wash clothes and towels. These are some of the important items that you will need in the woods. Do not forget the garbage bags to put your trash in while camping.

6. Survival Gear

Of the most important things to remember, be sure to bring along your cellular phone if you have one. This can save your life in the case of an emergency. Always remember to bring along a first aid kit, sharp outdoor knife, sunscreen and insect repellent. These are things that you use on a day-to-day basis and you will defiantly need in the woods. With the right gear, it is quite possible for you to survive for weeks or more without any supplies.

My gf and myself are getting lazy. What are ways for us to get motivated to exercise and clean the apt more?

We met long distance and she moved to be with me months ago. We’re very much in love, we lay down and cuddle A LOT. We were having sex more but it’s dying down a bit, not because of lack of interest, I think we’re both just getting lazy lately. She works on her feet a lot so by the time she gets home it’s hard to get her in the mood for exercising or house cleaning. Also she’s not a morning person. I suppose I could just aim to get more exercise after she gets home in hopes that she’ll do it with me, but I don’t think it would just happen magically. I think I would need to talk to her about it. Also, neither of us are fat. In fact, we’re both thin. Any tips on getting out of this rut?

Tips for getting weight and muscle on a senior horse?

We just bought a horse yesterday. She is 26 years old, an imported Swedish Warmblood, and still a very lively old girl and nice to ride.

However, she did come to us a bit skinny and lacking the muscle she should have. The older owner said he was having troubles getting her her senior feed twice a day (I am not upset with/blaming him though because I think he was having some health problems- he had sold all his other horses but her and had had her for 20 years).

So we are starting out by getting her used to actually having her full one scoop of senior feed morning and night, then gradually increasing the amount of feed to two scoops- plus she is out on grass and has free choice hay and water 24/7.
Also, she doesn’t seem to have much trouble with chewing or her teeth, but we are still having the vet out to float her ASAP, so don’t worry about that.

What other tips do you have for getting weight on? I have heard daily dewormer, veggie oil in the feed, probiotics/prebiotics, weight builder supplements… but I wasn’t sure how successful these were and if there were simpler/cheaper alternatives.

Also, she has lost the muscle tone in her butt area, so it has that ‘flat’ look. Same thing with her neck. I am not sure if this is due to lack of nutrition or lack of proper exercise.
Any specific tips on exercises to get her filled out again? She will lunge and/or ride.
