What are some great exercises to tone and build muscle in the legs and core?


Im going to try out for the Track & Field and Cross Country Teams in High School next year and have started conditioning–
I have been running every morning for about 30 mins to 1 hour and again in Gym class. I also do lunges.
Also, I found out how many calories i need to take in and i have been eating alot of protien.

but i need to tone and build more muscle in my calves, thighs, and abs. and great work out tips or links that could help me?

Going from Gym to at home Exercises, anyone done this?


Hello, I’ve had a Bally Total Fitness membership for some time now. In the new year, I won’t be paying for it anymore because I can’t afford it. I’m going to start working out at home, and hopefully I’ll be able to get my own equipment. But until then, I’ll be doing the old fashion push-ups and sit-ups. Do you think my build will suffer because of this? Are there any special tips that you can lead me to on the net or any suggestions for my morning work out at home that can help me keep the physique that I have now? I’m not even trying to be really big. I just want to keep my abs and pecks in shape until I can get my gym equipment for my own home.

Diet, exercises, and health?


I am not a good eater i eat sugar all the time like a lot of junk and all kinds of unhealthy things what should i eat on a regular basis because i am craving always sugar and what should i do. Also what are some good excersises i can do in the morning to keep me in shape once and did 10 jumoing jacks and i was tired what are some good excersises and what can i do about my health as well. i am worried that i wont even last past 40 yrs. old and im 25 so what are some good health, excersising, and health tips for me and also for my children?

Help loosing weight? What are common things i shouldn’t eat? Easy or fun exercises?


Yeah I know how- & I know everyone asks this question & gets the same answer, and know the answers coming.

eat less calories & exercises, burning more calories than you consumed.

But does anyone have some helpful tips for me?
Maybe certain foods people think are good, but there really high in fat ect..
Or maybe someone can give me some good foods people bypass alot-but it would really help, if that makes sense.

-every morning i try to eat breakfast, a bowl of cereal(non sugary kind) & maybe adding some blueberries, or a banana.

What about this? Anything i should change?:

-lunch i eat a sand which,(no crust) I eat shaved ham & turkey, with a slice of cheese, i think kraft or something, and some mustard.

-dinner, ranges between various things, but i make sure not to eat to much & only 1 serving.

Can you offer any exercises to lose stomach fat and gain flat abs?


well im only 13 so i can’t go to a gym, can’t go for jogs and runs in the morning, and apart from some 4 kg weights don’t own any gym equipment. The only sports i do i guess are cycling/walking to school and horseriding once a week.
Do you have any tips to lose fat arounf the stomach/hips/waist area and any exercises. And No i don’t pig out on crisps becuase my parents never buy them and i don’t pig out on other stuff either becuase i get a really healthy lunch for school

I currently weight 7 stone/45kg/98lbs and am 5’2

Hey Guitar Hero III players, can anyone recommend some hand exercises that would me up for songs like TtFaF?


In “Through the Fire and Flames” (Expert) I’m finally getting past the keytar intro more than half of the time. I can nail the bit right after that and maintain it while collecting some star power along the way, I usually screw up somewhere after the 40% mark, but it’s never the same; I always screw up in a different way. My farthest thus far is 69%.

I could probably use more practice with the parts leading up to the solos and the solos themselves, but can anyone reccommend some good warmups/excercises to keep my hands in good condition? I hadn’t played in weeks, then after playing “Impulse” I went right into TtFaF. I could handle it, but my hands quickly locked up on me, so I quit for the night. I’ll get a good night’s sleep and try again in the morning, but again, any tips you may have, please, share. Thanks.
Oh, and keep it clean. Gaming and sexual innuendo go hand in hand, but there are children about. :P

Tips for slowing down the energetic old mare (lunge exercises, etc.)?


We recently purchased a 26 year old Swedish Warmblood mare… half because we wanted a steady non-spooky old horse to ride around the fields and half because she was looking like she needed a little extra “senior care” as far as keeping weight on, etc. and the low 3-digit price she was going for made me think she might get to a place where she could be worse off… if you know what I mean.

Well, for an oldster, she is energetic!! She loves loves loves to lunge and her favorite gait is the trot- so much in fact, she would rather just skip all walking and get straight to the trotting (on the lunge as well). She is not at all scary/spooky or ‘I’m running away with you,’ just would rather not walk. I would let her, but:
a) she has a horribly uncomfortable trot
b) she is in the process of being reminded of leg/rein aids for turning and slower pace would make it easier, and
c) I really want to make sure she warms up properly since she is getting up in years.

Any tips for getting the old girl to take it easy? I’m glad she has so much energy for her age, but it would be nice to have a relaxing walk around the perimeter fence occasionally.

Extra Info:
She gets 2 scoops Equine Senior morning and night. (I am reluctant to cut her feed because she still needs to gain a considerable amount of weight.)
Out on pasture all day with free choice hay and water.
Rides in a French Link snaffle.
Will lunge anywhere, anytime- just attach rope and go.
We don’t have an arena to ride in, only wide open fields.

Working certain muscles/ doing certain exercises in same day/routine?


Right so i recantly got a weight bench, dumbells, punch bag and i live across the road from a soccer pitch ( which i use to run laps ).

so basicaly i want to set up a routine for what workouts to do in each day. im still in school so im going to do a morning workout – before school and an evening workout – after school either at 5 or 7…. if thats advised. Can you help me make one up please for 7 days?

also i have read that you should allow muscles the rest for aprox 48hours. is this true? if so is it ok to do bench press on one day, and punch bag on the next or is that working the same muscles?

is it best to run in the evenings or morning?

and have you any good exercises, tips hints…etc..

i know theres alot to answer..but it would really really mean alot to me if you could try answer all or even any of the above questions!
